IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Albina 'Beanie'
Bradsky Kulpaca
June 17, 1930 – June 21, 2018
Albina "Beanie" Frances Bradsky Kulpaca was born in Rapid City, SD on June 17, 1930 to Czech immigrants Charles and Vilma Bradsky. She was the third of five children and spent her early years on a farm on the outskirts of Rapid City where they grew crops and had cattle, pigs and chickens. She always talked about how hard the work was on a farm and lamented the fact that she had to work on her 17th birthday and resolved to never marry a farmer! She was a proud member of 4H and was a great source of information on farm animals and crops. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School and then attended St. John's nursing school in Rapid City where she received her RN. She worked at Ft Meade for a couple of years until she met Dr. Charles Kulpaca-a newly minted optometrist, and they married on July 10, 1954. They were due to celebrate 64 years of marriage in few short weeks. Her greatest joy was her six children: Karen, Susan, Nancy, Bruce, Brian and Mary Ann who she raised with love, discipline and the core values of hardwork, kindness and service to others. They all went on to successful careers in industry and healthcare. She also had 13 grandchildren located all over the US.
She loved giving parties and the Kulpaca home was the scene of many holiday and social gatherings. She was very dedicated to her Catholic faith and was called on many occasions to pray for others. She served as the Altar Society president and was a lifelong member of the Catholic Daughters. In her later years she enjoyed traveling and visiting family and always remembered birthdays and anniversaries with a phone call and card. She was very proud of her Czech heritage and took many trips to Europe to see extended family.
She passed away in the early hours of June 21, 2018 in Salt Lake City where she had recently relocated to be near several of her children and grandchildren.
Albina is survived by her husband Charles, children: Karen (Greg), Susan (Jon), Nancy (Tom), Bruce (Peg), Brian (Denise) and Mary Ann (Shane) and grandchildren: Gregory, Justin, Joshua, Jon-Erik, Nikolas, Ryan, Bryce, Alaina, Ian, Gretchen, Paige, Dane and Bailey, her two sisters Wilma and Florence and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Charles and Walter.
