Alexander Wiles Schuttler, age 35, of Rapid City, passed away on Sunday, November 19th, 2017. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 24th at 10:00 am, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Blvd, Rapid City.

Alex was born on March 28, 1982, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Cindy and Richard Schuttler. He attended Stevens High School in Rapid City and attended college at National American University and Black Hills State University. He worked as a Certified Nurse's Assistant at Rapid City Regional Hospital providing care to others in need.

Alex was a kind and gentle person, whose compassion for others was his defining characteristic. As a CNA, he received many thank you letters and cards from patients for his genuine care and kindness during their illness. He met whomever he encountered with understanding and acceptance. He was a loyal friend, brother, and son. He loved to laugh and enjoyed nothing more than having others laugh with him. He had a passion for music and movies of all kinds and enjoyed sharing his passion with others.

Grateful for having shared in Alex's life are his parents, Cindy and Richard Schuttler; his sister and brother-in-law, Harmony Schuttler and Matthew Klahn; his uncle Reynold Schuttler, Jr.; and his grandmother, Bernadine Wiles.

Alex was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Evan Wiles and Reynold Schuttler, Sr.; his uncle, Robert Schuttler; and his grandmother, Louila Schuttler Wasserburger. He will be dearly missed.
