Allen Victor Cernicky, 86, passed away on December 21, 2025, at Morningstar Assisted Living in Rapid City, South Dakota.
He was born August 12, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Adam and Rose (Odeja) Cernicky. He attended Spencerian College in Milwaukee and pursued a career as an entrepreneur and business owner of the Dunkin Donuts franchise as well as storage facilities.
On November 23, 1963, Allen married Ramona Martin, and together they had two children, Mark and Julie. They were married for 43 years until her passing on July 18, 2007.
Allen spent his time being a member of Moose and Elks clubs, being a bass in many church choirs, and attending bridge clubs. He also had a strong passion for the Green Bay Packers and music, enjoying classical music and opera, and he even hosted opera nights at his house. His love for music is something he shared with his grandchildren.
Allen is survived by his son Mark (Ann) Cernicky of Rapid City, South Dakota; daughter Julie (Todd) White of Merritt Island, Florida; and grandchildren Andrew Cernicky, Matthew (Silvana) Cernicky, John Cernicky, and Peter Cernicky, all of Rapid City. Preceding him are his parents and his wife Ramona.
A vigil will be held at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. A Christian Funeral Mass will be at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., with a luncheon to follow. The committal service will take place at St. Adalbert's Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. A memorial luncheon will follow the committal.
