He grew up during the Great Depression and experienced its hardships. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War, serving with the 23rd Infantry Regiment, and was honorably discharged in 1951. Bud retired as the finance officer for the City of Redfield. Some of his best qualities were that he was always willing to lend a helping hand, hard worker, handyman, and was very family oriented. Following retirement in 1987, Deloris and Bud traveled around the U.S. to military reunions and to Arizona to visit friends. In 1999, they moved from Redfield to Rapid City. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bud attended many Minnesota Twins and Vikings games with his family. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus where he held many positions including Grand Knight and Navigator. He will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
