Obituary

RAPID CITY--Amy L. Clark, 49, died at Rapid City Regional Hospital Auxiliary Hospice House on Tuesday, August 25, 2009. Amy was born to Henry Christian and Amy Maria (Groop) Heagley on May 2, 1960, in Leola. She graduated from Leola High School in 1978. Every summer from the time she was 2 years old until the age of 22, she was on the custom harvesting trail. She helped her mother prepare meals and started driving truck when she was 18. It was a great experience and always made her want to move on to the next stop. She had some gypsy and wanderlust in her. Amy graduated from Northern State College in Aberdeen in 1982 with a business degree and she started her career in banking in 1982. Amy married Bennett Clark on May 17, 1986. What a blessing to have such a soulmate in this life. She was blessed with a wonderful family and husband. Amy was employed at Western Bank in Sioux Falls for several years. The couple then moved to the Black Hills and she has been employed in Rapid City in the US Bancorp trust department for several years. Amy enjoyed hiking, canoeing, and anything outdoors. She also enjoyed photography and refinishing furniture. Amy made the most important decision of her life when she was 12 years old. That was when she asked Jesus to forgive her sins and come into her life. It is written: No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him. I Corinthians 2:9. Dear people, she is looking forward to seeing you in heaven. Amy is survived by her wonderful husband of 23 years, Bennett, Rapid City; 3 sisters, Pat (Paul) Dullum, Pequot Lakes, MN, Gail Erdman, Aberdeen, Joanne (Harvey) Schanzenbach, Bismarck, ND; a brother, Henry (Shirley) Heagley, Westport; 13 nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and nephews and 1 great-great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, at First Baptist Church in Rapid City with Rev. Gregg Hemmen officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church. A memorial has been established in her memory.
