Obituary

Ann Bozzetti peacefully passed away on the morning of September 9, 2020 at the age of 97.  She was born in Rapid City on May 7, 1923 to Arthur and Nancy Rawlins.  Ann was the youngest of their seven children.

Ann lived on the family ranch located Northeast of Ellsworth Airforce Base until she met her future husband Tony Bozzetti who was stationed at Ellsworth Army Air Corps during World War II.  The two were married on March 2, 1944 and were married 76 years this spring.  Ann and Tony welcomed their son Louis on March 3, 1954 and two years later they started their own trucking company, Custom Sand and Gravel.  Ann worked as the bookkeeper and offered her best advice to Tony on day to day operations.  The two successfully operated the company until they sold it in 1989, at which time Ann retired to focus on her passions.

Ann was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in her backyard tending to her many Iris, Lilly and Peoni flowers.  Ann also enjoyed her crochet and knitting projects in the winter months.  Antique collecting was a passion that she shared with her mother Nancy.  They even owned and operated their own antique shop on 8 th and Franklin in Rapid City during the early 70s.  Ann and her mother would love to take trips to eastern South Dakota or Iowa and peruse as many antique shops as they could along the way.  Ann passed the antique bug onto her son, and the tradition of road trips and wandering the antique malls was something they did as often as they could.

Coming from such a large family, holiday gatherings were always of great importance.  Christmas was always held at Ann and Tony's and Thanksgiving was at her sister Margaret's.  No matter at her home or her sisters, Ann would always be found in the kitchen cooking up the family favorites.

Ann lived a rich, full life surrounded by family and friends.  Even as her health ailed her in her later years, she still kept in contact with her brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews.  Her warm smile and kind heart will be missed as she looks down on us from her heavenly flower garden.

Ann was preceded in death by her mother Nancy, father Arthur, brothers George, Harold, David and Alec, and by her sisters Margaret and Nelly.  Ann is survived by her husband Tony Bozzetti and son Louis Bozzetti both of Rapid City and her granddaughter Melina Bozzetti (Jon Negus) of Elko Nevada.

Online condolences can be left at osheimschmidt.com.  Family asks that no flowers or donations be made, just a quiet prayer in the memory of Ann's life.  Joint services will be held when her husband passes so they can be honored together.
