Ann Michelle
Mcdonald
November 14, 1970 – March 11, 2025
Ann McDonald, 54, of Rapid City, SD, went to heaven on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital. She was a talented artist. She liked writing poetry. Her senior year of high school, she went to New York City with her modeling class and received a trophy in national competition at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
After graduation, she worked at ATT in Buffalo, New York, as a long distance operator. It was at this time that she was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. Her sister, Dawn Halstead, was her bone marrow donor.
Upon recovery, Ann moved to Hermosa, SD, with her "Mumsey," Lois, and her "Auntie" Elizabeth. She graduated from Black Hills State with a B.S. in 2003, and graduated in 2007 from Western Dakota Tech with a degree in Pharmacy Tech. She had many years of productive employment, her last job working as an advocate for the women's and children's home of the Cornerstone Mission.
Through the years, she sold several of her paintings, and had a poem she wrote published. She was a very empathetic soul, to people and animals alike. She enjoyed participating in the Friends Bible Study Group.
She is survived by her mother, Lois Odien-Page of Rapid City, her sister Dawn Halstead, of Ocala, Florida, her Auntie Elizabeth Plautz of Hermosa, SD, and her kitty Roxy.
