Anna O. Keller, 87, of Rapid City, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017, at Rapid City Regional Hospital
Anna was born April 21st, 1930 in Lemmon, SD, the oldest child of John & Margaret (Heil) Jonas.
She married the love of her life, Eugene Keller in Lemmon, SD on November 27th, 1953. They owned the Lemmon Paint and Glass store in Lemmon for many years where Anna did the bookkeeping and Gene was a carpenter. In 1987 they moved to the Rapid City area and managed an apartment complex until their retirement.
Anna was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a long time parishioner of Saint Therese The Little Flower Catholic Church. She loved to cook and her eyes would light up when her grandchildren entered the room.
Her grandchildren say she was the best chocolate chip cookie maker in the world. She had a magical cookie jar that was never empty!
She is survived by her children Vicky (Joe) Nehl of Worland, WY; Cathy (Bob) Fredrickson of Rapid City, SD; Nancy (David) Mace of Mountain View, OK; Steve (Vicki) Keller of West Fargo, ND; Kristi (Ron) Lyon of Piedmont, SD. Grandchildren Erin Davis of Casper, WY; Amy (Mykle) Baugh of Worland, WY; Ben (Diana) Nehl of Worland, WY; Cassandra Morgan of Rapid City, SD; Kirby (Amanda) Keller of West Fargo, ND; Briana (Connor Ellegard) Keller of Harwood, ND; Rex Lyon of Sturgis, SD & Klara Lyon of Fargo, ND and 6 great grandchildren. As well as her sister Elaine (Jonas) Kirchoff of Vadnais Heights, MN; Sandy (Jonas) Gardner of Montrose, MN and sister-in-law Pat Jonas of Whitebear Lake, MN. Numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Eugene; her brothers Arthur and John; and her son Michael.
Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 2, from 6pm to 7pm, with a 7 pm Vigil Service at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Blvd,.
Christian Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 am on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at the Church of St. Therese, the Little Flower Catholic Church, 532 Adams Street.
Interment will be at Black Hills National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
