Obituary

Anne Rose Fauvell, 78, went to be with her Lord from Rapid City Regional Hospital Auxiliary Hospice House on Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Anne was born on January 10, 1934, in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York, to Joseph and Rosanna (Pinto) Lebrizzi. She grew up in Greenpoint and graduated from public high school. Anne was united in marriage to Richard Thomas Fauvell at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Greenpoint on May 9, 1959. The couple made their home on Long Island in Smithtown. To this union their daughter Rosanne was born. During Rosanne's school years, Anne also attained her degree from Stony Brook. She taught as a substitute teacher in the public schools of Long Island and later received her Master's Degree from Adelphi University on Long Island. They enjoyed Broadway productions and the symphonies in the city and also traveled extensively in the New England area. She was especially proud of their Cape Cod home on Long Island with many bird feeders in the back yard. To be nearer to her daughter and her family, Anne and Richard moved to Rapid City in 1993. She continued to substitute teach in the Rapid City School District. Richard died unexpectedly in 1995, and Anne continued to substitute teach, mainly at Stevens High School, where she was very active in the Arts as a volunteer. Anne enjoyed writing and published several books of shorts stories and poetry. She started a writing club at Canyon Lake Senior Center and was involved with the Black Hills Symphony League. She also learned to play the flute in her early 60's and played with the New Horizons Band. Anne was a very encouraging person and always had a word or a card to help people along. Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter Rosanne Wood and son in law Marcus L. Wood, of Roseville, MN and two granddaughters, Desiree M. Wood and Danae M. Widbin and her husband, Lucas S. Widbin, all of Minneapolis, MN. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, at Blessed Sacrament Church with Rev. Janusz Korban presiding. A luncheon will follow the celebration. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Dahl Fine Arts Center.
