Rapid City, SD — Annette Kulesza, 91, was born August 10, 1934, in Villisca, Iowa, to Samuel Spargur and Rachel Spargur (Sawyer). She passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026, at her residence.
Annette Marie Spargur and Charles Dean “Bud” Kulesza were married on July 10, 1953, in Rapid City, South Dakota. They celebrated 72 years of marriage last summer.
Annette and Bud were proud graduates of Rapid City High School in 1952 and over the years they worked tirelessly on all the reunions. Annette was so proud of RCHS, even her car license plate said “RCHS52”.
Annette was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother (GG) who always put her family first. Her warm smile and kind heart touched everyone she met. She was often the first to volunteer for projects or gatherings, especially when a gracious hostess was needed. People knew they could always count on her, as she truly loved being in service to others.
Annette was co-owner of Kulesza Construction, where she worked in the office and kept Bud and the boys busy. She was actively involved in many organizations throughout her life, including the BPO Does, where she served in numerous capacities including President and was fondly described as “just plain fun.” She also worked alongside the Elks on projects locally and nationally and was involved with the Zonta Club of the Black Hills and the Red Hat Society (AZ), just to name a few.
Annette and Bud enjoyed traveling with friends in their RV and later spent many cherished days at Happy Trails Resort in Surprise, Arizona.
Annette is survived by her devoted husband, Bud Kulesza (92); her children, Alex (Mikal Ann) Kulesza and Mark (Elizabeth) Kulesza; her grandchildren, Ryan (Monica) Kulesza, Jona (Chris) Stoebner, Mikala (Nate) Jackson, and Frank Kulesza; and her great-grandchildren, Emmet and Avrie Kulesza, Cora, Mara, and Cason Stoebner, and Barrett and Blake Jackson.
Annette is now at peace, reunited with her parents and dear friends who were waiting for her. She will be deeply missed, and her warm spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
Visitation will be held from 1:00–2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Rapid City.
