New Underwood - Anthony "Tony" Olic, 80, died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in New Underwood. Anthony Olic was born April 1, 1932 at Jenec, Czechoslovakia to Frank and Bessie Olic. His dad, Frank had passed away 8 months prior to Anthony's birth. Tony grew up in Imlay, SD among his brothers and sisters. He went to grade school at Imlay and to various high schools, graduating from Belvidere High School in 1950. After graduation, Tony moved around a lot as a surveyor working on missile sites, with his first job taking him to many states and in between moves he made his home with his sister, Helen and Leroy Miller. After retiring Tony settled in New Underwood, SD. Survivors include three sisters: Marie Tedrow of Murdo, SD, Helen R. Miller of Rapid City, and Bessie Konvalinka of Czech Republic. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Frank, sister: Patricia, brother-in-laws: Russell and Leroy; and nephew: Mike. Memorial services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Boulevard, Rapid City, with Rev. William Zandri officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Rapid City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Center at New Underwood.
