Ardis D. Kveene, 78, of Rapid City, SD, formerly of Canby, MN died August 2, 2008 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She was born Dec. 14, 1929 at Canby, Minnesota to Clarence and Hilma Melby. She graduated from Canby High School in May 1947 and after receiving her teaching certificate taught school for one year. She was married to Ted Kveene on April 9, 1949. The couple resided on a farm near Canby where they raised four children. They moved to Rapid City, SD in 1970. Survivors include her husband, Ted, Rapid City: three sons, Steve (Kathy), Jeff, and Dan (Tammy) all of Rapid City, and a daughter, Nancy Hinrichsen (Mike) of Willmar, MN and her brother, Merlin (Marlys) Melby of Barnesville, MN. She has nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Nona Husby. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday Aug 6th with memorial service following at 7 PM at the Birk Funeral Home in Canby. Interment will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery on Thursday Aug 7th. Processional will leave at 11 AM from Birk Funeral Home. Lunch will follow at Our Saviors Lutheran Church.
