RAPID CITY- Arlone Prascher, 89, Rapid City, passed away January 22, 2012 at Rapid City Regional Auxiliary Hospital Hospice House. Arlone was born in Sherman County Nebraska to William and Helen Habe, and was the oldest of seven children. She lived on her parents farm in Sherman County until the family moved to Kearney, Nebraska in 1939. Arlone graduated from Kearney High School in 1940 and worked as a bookkeeper until she met and married Warren Prascher in 1945. She and Warren lived in Elm Creek NE, Concord CA, Ogden UT and Portland OR before settling in Rapid City in 1955. A devout Catholic, Arlone was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She participated in various activities during her lifetime including Meals on Wheels, serving on the Pennington County Election Board, and in her later years leading exercise classes at Jackson Heights High-rise until her health prohibited her from doing so. Arlone was an avid reader. She loved to dance, a good polka or a romantic waltz were her favorites. She also enjoyed playing Bridge, Whist, Cribbage and just about any other card game to which she was introduced. Arlone also loved to travel and learn about other cultures. Destinations of note for her included China, Mexico, Hawaii and Bermuda. Preceded in death by her parents and brother William Habe, Arlone is survived by four sisters Elanor Walbridge, Chico, CA; Mary Felciano, Richmond, CA; Angie Moeller, Concord, CA and Jeanie Alvidrez and husband Rudy, Chico, CA; one brother Robert Habe and wife Jewell, Oroville, CA and one sister-in-law, Marla Habe, Gualala, CA. Arlone is also survived by one daughter, Kathryn Tillett and husband Guy, Black Hawk, SD, and three sons, John and wife Stephannie, Memphis, TN, Craig and wife Carla, Plano, TX and Daniel and wife Mary, Grapevine, TX, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and life-long close friends to cherish her memories. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Rev. Janusz Korban presiding. Interment will be in the Habe family site in Ravenna, Nebraska. Date to be determined. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Catholic Diocese of Rapid City Terra Sancta, Meals on Wheels, Rapid City Regional Auxiliary Hospital Hospice House or charity of your choice.
