HILL CITY- Art Anderson, 66, of Hill City passed away Feb. 9th, 2012 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Art was born Sept. 6th, 1945 in Brookings, SD to Arthur Sr. and Olga(Wold)Anderson. Art graduated from Belle Fourche High School. He later attended SDSU and South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He served with the US Army in Vietnam. He married Sue(Steele) on Feb. 19th, 1966. They made their home in Hill City. He was very active in the Hill City Community. He was a volunteer firefighter and served as Chief for many years. He also had a strong passion for his job as Public Works Superintendent for the City of Hill City. Art enjoyed attending any activity involving his children and grandchildren. Survivors include, his wife, Sue(Steele); daughters, Michelle Anderson, Hill City; Kristi(Sergio)Flores, Grand Prairie, TX; sons, Jeff(Staci) Anderson and Jon(Melanie) Anderson both of Hill City; his mother, Olga(Wold)Anderson, Custer; brothers Jim Anderson, Pierre; Glen (Elaine)Anderson, Hot Springs; their daughter Christine Anderson, Reno, NV; Paul Anderson, his daughter Brianna, Anchorage, Alaska. Grandchildren, Tabitha(Tee) Tetrault, Martin, SD; JD, Megan, Makaley, Molly, and Jesse Anderson, Hill City; Max, Maya and Mateo Flores, Grand Prairie, TX. Great-Grandchildren, Trey, Tayce and Tatum Tetrault, Martin, SD; brother-in-law Rick (Deedee) Steele of Hot Springs; niece Sarah (Jim) Perry, Morrill NE; their daughter Danielle Perry, Kearney NE; nephew Tony (Tisha) Steele, their children, Cody, Jake, Hailee, Seth, Billy Jack, Gillette, WY; and brother-in-law Jerry Steele, Lead SD. Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at New Hill City High School Gymnasium. Interment with Military and Fire Department Honors will follow at Hill City Cemetery. A memorial will be established in Arts name.
