Arthur H. Davis RAPID CITY After 97 years of service to God, country and many communities in North and South Dakota and Montana, Arthur H. Davis passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011 at Westhills Village Health Care. He was born Sept. 18, 1914 in Belle Fourche to Earl and Jenny (Sellers) Davis and graduated from Belle Fourche High School and South Dakota State University. Arthur serviced in the Army in the European Theater in World War II. After the war he began his banking career in Miles City, Mont. Later the family moved to Columbus, Mont., Hettinger, N.D. and Dickinson, N.D. He completed his professional career in Lead and in 1994, he and Florence moved to Westhills Village. During his lifetime he was active in many Masonic lodges, community organizations, churches, charitable organizations, SDSU, and the Boy Scouts. He is survived by sons Earl (Loretta) Davis, Rapid City, and Terry (Thea) Davis, Fair Oaks, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Elly Davis, Fair Oaks; two grandchildren, Clark (Phyllis) Davis, Johnstown, Colo., and Laura (Rodney) Luehrs, El Dorado, Kan.; and four great-grandchildren, Shawn, Tyler and Ryan Luehrs, and Kaleena Davis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence (Clarkson) Davis; a son, James Davis; two brothers, Clarence Davis and Robert Davis; a sister, Neta Leonetti; anhd a great-granddaughter, Sara Luehrs. Private family services will be held at a later date.
