Arthur Floyd Kelly, 77, Hill City, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 at his home. Arthur was born Feb. 14, 1931 in Omaha, NE the son of Leonard and Ruth (Stenner) Kelly. He worked for Union Carbide until his retirement in the Houston, TX area. There he was an avid angler in the Gulf waters but decided to move to rural Hill City eighteen years ago. There he continued fishing, reading and expanded his love for singing, becoming a member of the Black Hills Singers. He was in the Dakota Choral Union and performed in Die Fledermaus in Rapid City. Arthur and Fabiola rededicated their marriage in July of 1996 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hill City. Arthur was a dedicated Mason for 56 years. What friends and family will most fondly remember was what a great host and cook he was when visiting his home known as the Green Parrot Inn. Surviving are his with, Fabiola (Gil) Kelly, , Hill City, sisters Phyllis (Carl) Ramsey, Omaha, NE and Elaine (Col. Joseph) Adams, Anacortes, WA, daughters, Patricia Kelly, and Geraldine Kelly, sons, Michael (Ramona) Kelly, and Sean Kelly, Maui, HI, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home in Rapid City with Deacon Pat Coy officiating. A memroial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
