Audrey G. Wieser, 81, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at her ranch home north of Wasta
She was born on May 21, 1934, in New Underwood to John and Lura (Roberts) Nachtigall. After graduating from New Underwood High School in 1952, Audrey received her teaching certificate from Black Hills Teachers College and taught in the rural school system.
She married Clarence Wieser on July 23, 1954, in New Underwood. They ranched north of Wasta. It was said, Audrey could do the work of two men, taking care of the chickens, feeding cattle as well as being a Mom and homemaker. She loved to sew, garden, fish and help Clarence with woodworking.
Audrey was a longtime member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church of Lakeside. She volunteered many hours of service in the church.
Clarence died in 2002 and Audrey stayed on the ranch.
She is survived by her children, John Wieser of Wasta, Paul Wieser of Box Elder, Bernie (Mike) Davis of Douglas, WY, Jane (Bruce) Jensen and Shirley (Kevin) Koch, all of Owanka, and Deann (Jeff) Barber of Enning; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Kay Overland; and her brother, Daren Nachtigall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two infant grandsons.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a 6 p.m. Christian funeral vigil on Friday, Dec. 4, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
A Christian funeral mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the New Underwood School Gymnasium, with Father Tim Hoag presiding. Interment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
