Barbara Jean Hendrickson passed quietly in her sleep on June 24 ^th at Franklin Park Assisted Living in San Antonio, TX.  She was 89.

Barb was born on September 26, 1932 in Montevideo, Minnesota to Grace (Thom) Huseby and Harold "Buck" Huseby.  She attended school in Maynard, Minnesota and met her late husband Lyle Hendrickson at the roller-skating rink in Montevideo.

Barb and Lyle were married December 29 ^th , 1953.  They had 3 children, Pamela (Dave) Smith, San Antonio, Jim (Teresa) Hendrickson, Brownsburg, IN, and Bob (Polly) Hendrickson of Chandler, AZ.  In addition to her children, she is survived by 9 grandchildren, Dan (Kursten) Hodgin, Kate Smith, Jennifer (Jon) Nussbaum, James (Megan) Hendrickson, Alex Hendrickson, Ross (Abby) Hendrickson, Riley Hendrickson, Brady (Amanda) Hendrickson, Shaylee Hendrickson and 8 great-grandchildren.

Barb arrived in Rapid City in the summer of 1965.  She was active in Beta Sigma Phi, 39 Club, the Elks axillary, and Blessed Sacrament Church where she sang in the choir, was a eucharistic minister and served in numerous other ways.  Barb also loved a good game of bridge and played in several bridge clubs.  She took up the game of golf and her and Lyle played together in the Twilight League.  Barb volunteered at the hospital gift shop, with Little League and numerous other organizations throughout her 55+ years in Rapid City.

In lieu of flowers, all monetary donations will go to Story Book Island.
