Rapid City – Barbara "Bobbi" Kelley, 89, died Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Society – St. Martin Village.

Barbara Jean Thayer was born April 19, 1935 in Rapid City, SD to Glen and Florence (Gilbaugh) Thayer.

She went to school in Rapid City and attended Rapid City High School.

She married William Earl Kelley in 1961 and they were later divorced.

She spent the last 30 years with her partner and special friend, Francis Leslie Cuny. He died and made his Journey to the Spirt World on May 31, 2024 and his services were held June 10 at the Pine Ridge Elementary School Gymnasium in Pine Ridge.

For 30 years she was the office manager for Pete Lien & Sons. She enjoyed reading, dancing, rodeos, and attending sporting events.

Survivors include her two daughters: Jodette "Jody" Kelley of Rapid City and Cynthia "Cyndi" (Joe) Guarino of Boise, ID; one sister: Vicki Martian  of Rapid City; two brothers: Jerome (Ann) Thayer of West Virginia and Jeffrey (Sue) Thayer of Rapid City; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many grandchildren she was blessed to have shared with Francis.

Bobbi was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Marcia Wolk, Glenda Thayer, and Lana Summerlin; one brother: Richard Thayer; and one infant son: Brett William Kelley.

It was Bobbi's wishes to not have a memorial service but burial will take place at Mt. View Cemetery in Rapid City along side Francis Cuny. This date will be Friday, September 13, 2024 at 10:00 am.

There will be a Potluck Reception held at 1:00 pm Friday, September 13 at the Eagles Club, 1410 Centre Street, Rapid City.
