Barbara Ellen Wong, 67, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024.  Barbara was born on March 10, 1957 in Wagner, SD to Donald and M. Eileen (Barta) Walters.

Barbara grew up in Pierre, SD and graduated from Pierre High School.  She attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH where she met David G. Wong.  They were married on February 19, 1977, in Cleveland. They had two children, Jennifer, and Donald Matthew.

She and David are members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rapid City. In her youth Barbara was a champion archer and avid sportswoman. She enjoyed travel, music, theater, and sports.  She loved animals and, above all, her family.

Barbara is survived by her husband David; her children, Matthew Wong of Rapid City and Jennifer Fuller of Albuquerque, NM; sister M. Louise Walters, PhD of Savannah, GA: seven grandchildren—Marie Mutziger, James Roseland, Nathan Fuller, Meghan Fuller, M. Mae Fuller, Austin "Stewie" Wong, and Noah Wong—and two great-grandchildren, Violet Mutziger and Nizhoni Roseland, as well as many other loving family members and friends. She also left behind her beloved kitty cats, Punky and Sissy.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends and family are invited to a Latin Funeral Mass on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rapid City.  Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Rapid City.
