Ben W. Young, 77, died Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Avantara Mountain View Nursing Home, where he was a resident for over two years.

He was born June 10, 1944, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Benjamin and Ellen (Mastell) Young.

Ben loved Piesano's and loved his Ford Bronco. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

He is survived by his loving daughter and caretaker, Lauri Schmidt; three sons: Willy, Jon, & Matt Young; 10 grandchildren; three great granchildren; five special friends: Tara Young, Stacey Livermont, Jaden Collins, Nicci Blakeman, and his "Rodeo Buddy" Roy Schull. He is also survived by his friends that became family at Avantara; and a large extended family.

Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
