New Underwood Benita R. White- Gilbert, 59 of New Underwood, died on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She served as the Mayor of New Underwood from 1989 to 2010. Survivors include one daughter, Whitney Gilbert, New Underwood; two sons, Gary Gilbert and Casey (Shelia) White both of New Underwood; one sister, Sandra (Richard) Meng, Wasta; two brothers, Kent White, New Underwood and Charles White, Wasta; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lois White. A visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, December 17, 2010 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 18 at New Underwood High School Gymnasium with Rev. Ed Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at the New Underwood Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
