Rapid City Bernadine M. Green, 86, Rapid City, died at her home on Monday, January 16 under hospice care. Bernadine Mae Green was born November 17, 1925 at Rockyford, SD on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation to Charles R. and Emma A. [Clifford] Jones. She attended school at Holy Rosary Mission, which is now Red Cloud High School. She moved to Rapid City where she married Richard L. Green on December 11, 1943. She worked at Sioux San Hospital for over 30 years before her retirement. Survivors include four sons: Richard E. [Carol] Green, SR, Anthony Corky [Sharon] Green, Kenneth Green, and Patrick [Sally] Green, all of Rapid City; three daughters: Sandee [Leonard] Long, Madonna [Charles] Vermillion, and Priscilla [Mike] Red Leaf SR, all of Rapid City; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren with one more on the way; one sister: Mary Jo Trujillo of Albuquerque, NM; and special friends: Deanna Lebeau, Genie Ellis, and all Sioux San Staff. Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Richard L. Green on July 27, 1999; one daughter: Theresa; two grandchildren: Jenny and Kateri Dismounts; one great-grandson: Brandon Lybarger; four sisters: Lorene, Delores, Grace, and Irene; and two brothers: Tony and Bobby. Visitation and Wake will begin at 5:00 pm to 12:00 midnight on Friday, January 20 at the Mother Butler Center, 221 Knollwood Drive, with a Rosary said at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, January 21 at the Mother Butler Center with Rev. Father David Matzko,S.J.officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at Rapid City.
