She was born September 3, 1931, in Redfield, South Dakota, to Richard Price and Katherine Elizabeth (Wilhelm) Price, and lived on a farm in Athol, SD.  As a child she lived with her family on the Santee, NE, Sioux Indian Reservation from 1936 to 1939 where her father was the Farm Superintendent and Grounds Director for the Normal Training School which was supported by the Congregational Church.  Betty's family eventually moved to Rapid City where her parents opened Travelers Camp and a few years later built and operated the Price Motel.  Betty went to Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD, and graduated in 1953 with 5-year Nursing B.S. degree.   Betty met her future husband Francis "Jack" Bossen at Dakota Wesleyan when they both played French horn in the band.  They were married on December 27, 1953, and enjoyed a 62-year marriage.

Betty and her husband Jack ran the Butterfield Grocery Store from 1956 through 1961.  In 1977, Betty and Jack brought and operated the Berry Patch Campground and in 1992 they sold the business to their son Charles and retired.

Betty was a Brownie Girl Scout Leader and a co-leader of the Happy-Go-Lucky 4H club.  She was the Den Mother for Boy Scout Cub Pack 2.

Betty was an avid traveler and enjoyed camping.  She was a member of a Tripoley club that ran for over 50 years and she belonged to many bridge groups.  She had a passion for making scrapbooks of her travels, family events, and her grandchildren's activities.  She was active in church activities and served on various church committees through the years.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Earl Richard Price.

She is survived by her husband, Francis "Jack" Bossen of Rapid City; one sister, Jeanene Sloane of Palm Springs, CA; five children: Michael Bossen of Rapid City, Betty Jean Meyer (Randy) of Evanston, WY, Janice "Kate" Bossen of Lamont, IA, John Bossen (Michele) of Rapid City, and Charles Bossen (Holly) of Rapid City; and seven grandchildren.
