Betty LaVonne
Daly
August 9, 1941 – April 9, 2026
Betty Ebel Daly, 84, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, at Fountain Springs Healthcare in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Betty was born on August 9, 1941, in Hazen, North Dakota, to John and Ella Baszler. She was the youngest of six children, growing up surrounded by family, love, and strong values that she carried with her throughout her life. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, and those early family bonds remained close to her heart always.
Betty was united in marriage to Wayne Ebel in North Dakota. Together, they built a life rooted in love and family, making their home in Rapid City, where they raised their two daughters, Barbara (Carl) Geberbauer of Arizona and Brenda Koehne of South Dakota. Betty treasured her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy. She was deeply loved in each of these roles and embraced them with her whole heart.
Following Wayne’s passing, Betty later married Robert Daly Jr. in Arizona. Through this marriage, she was welcomed into an extended family, gaining two stepsons, a stepdaughter, and many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Each of them quickly became a cherished part of her life, and she embraced them all with her characteristic warmth and love.
Betty was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. She was actively involved in her church communities throughout her life, and while living in Arizona, she found meaningful purpose in teaching grief support classes, offering comfort, guidance, and compassion to those in need. She had a remarkable gift for supporting others, and to many—especially her daughters—she was simply known as “My Rock.”
Betty’s life was a beautiful reflection of faith, strength, and love. A treasured daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she touched countless lives with her kindness and steady presence and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial in Betty’s name has been established with Stillwater Hospice and Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Memorial services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Friday, April 24 at 2:30pm.
