Obituary

RAPID CITY- Beulah Bea' Lancaster, long-time resident of Rapid City, passed away April 19, 2014 at the age of 90 after a courageous battle with Myelofibrosis, an uncommon type of chronic leukemia. Bea was born in a rural community in Montana and was delivered by her father, as the doctor did not arrive in time. Bea chose to care for her two disabled children into their adulthood and the three of them lived together in the family's home until about a year ago. As Bea's condition progressed, the assistance of her son, Larry, allowed Bea to stay in her own home for as long as possible. She is survived by her children Larry and Faye, of Rapid City, daughter Carol Chabot and granddaughter Amber Fischer of Bozeman, Montana, and son Bruce Lancaster, who resides in Texas with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bea was preceded in death by her husband, two children, and a grandson. A memorial fund in Bea's name has been established at Camp Friendship, a place Faye and Larry dearly love to attend each summer. Checks can be sent to: Camp Friendship, PO Box 1986, Rapid City, SD 57709. Please indicate "Bea Lancaster Memorial" on the check. Thank you to Bea's longtime friends for the years of friendship and thank you for the donations you have made to Camp Friendship. Memorial Services are planned for July 7, 2014 at 10:30 am at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Blvd., Rapid City SD. Bea's ashes will be buried in Miles City, MT with her husband Phillip.
