Beverly Moore Orton, 91, Rapid City, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 at Westhills Health Care Center. She was born July 28, 1917 in Orient, SD to George and Grace Gunnison. She graduated from Pierre High School and Yankton College and earned additional credits from Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis, MN, Black Hills State College and the University of North Dakota. On July 11, 1963 Bev married Fred Orton in Billings, MT and they owned the Orton Music Store in Billings until the death of Fred in 1981. Bev was a member and deacon of First Presbyterian Church, a member of PEO and also the Golden Link Chapter #14 of the Order of Eastern Star. One of Beverlys greatest joys was playing the piano and the organ. Her talent entertained many; varying from business, church and community events to gatherings at Westhills. Survivors include her two nephews, Tom (Linda) Jones, Viborg, and Jerry (Jonell) Jones, Buffalo Lake, Mn, her 4 grandnieces, Holly, Tami, Nikki and Jenny and families. A memorial service to celebrate her beautiful and loving life will be held Thursday at 1:30 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bob Evans officiating.
