THE GATHERING FOR BLAKELY WILL NOW BE ON TUESDAY, OCT 8, AT 1:00 PM AT THE FUNERAL HOME INSTEAD OF MONDAY. THIS GATHERING IS FOR FRIENDS THAT WERE UNABLE TO ATTEND THE FUNERAL MASS FOR BLAKELY ON FRIDAY. BURIAL WILL FOLLOW THE GATHERING AT 2:00 PM TUESDAY AT MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY. RAPID CITY- Blakely Anne Scherr, 5 Months, of Rapid City, passed away on Saturday September 28, of the genetic disorder Trisomy 18. Blakely was born and spent 5 weeks in Colorado Children's Hospital before coming back to Rapid City. She underwent brain surgery at 5 days old, and was a fighter from day one. Blakely is survived by her parents Jenny and Eric Scherr, sisters Alexa and Leighton Scherr, and other family and friends. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Our Lady of the Black Hills in Piedmont with a Christian Wake Service and Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was offered at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Our Lady of the Black Hills in Piedmont with Rev. Steve Biegler presiding. There will be a gathering on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 1:00 pm at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home for friends that were unable to attend the funeral for Blakely on Friday. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery at 2:00 pm following the gathering on Tuesday.
