IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bobby
Joachim
November 3, 1954 – May 14, 2025
RAPID CITY - Bobby (Bob) Joachim, 70, of Rapid City, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14th, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband, father, and beloved "Papa," Bobby was cherished by all who knew him for his warm heart, steady presence, and unwavering love for his family.
Born in Mobridge, South Dakota, to Raymond and Esther (Hauck) Joachim, Bobby was raised with a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for family. He spent his early years helping in his father's music store and assisting his mother in the local bakery, laying the foundation for a life of dedication, loyalty, and hard work. Bobby graduated with an associate's degree in business from Northern State College. He moved to Rapid City in 1978 and worked for Nash Finch. By 1979 he was the Store Manager at Piggly Wiggly where he met the love of his life Ruthie Storms. The two were married in August of 1984. They were blessed with two children: Ashley and Austin. Bob was an esteemed salesman working for Campbell's Soup and John Morrell for most of his life. He won salesman of the year multiple times. He loved being outdoors, keeping the yard neat, and spending time hunting. Rarely without a to-do list, Bobby nonetheless always made time for those he loved—helping Austin with sports, lending a hand to whoever needed it, and always sharing his wise words.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruthie (Storms) Joachim; his parents, Raymond and Esther (Hauck) Joachim; and in-laws Mark and Delores (Simons) Storms; and many dear aunts and uncles.
Bobby is survived by his children: daughter Ashley (Josh) Kirchner, and son Austin (Allison) Joachim; and by his two grandsons, Kullen and Karson Kirchner, who brought him endless pride and joy. He also leaves behind his cherished grand pups, who never failed to brighten his day. His brother-in-law Andy (Lisa) Storms, and nephews Josh (Darcie & Colton) Storms and Matthew (fiancé Loren & Alyssa) Storms, beloved cousin, Jeff (Audrey) Hauck, along with many extended family members and friends who were touched by his quiet strength and kindness.
Bobby's legacy lives on in the lives he shaped and the love he shared. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
