RAPID CITY - Bonita J. Evans (Kieffer), age 87, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Bonnie was born on May 15, 1938, to Ferdinand and Mary (Raga) Kieffer. She was raised on a farm, where she learned the values of hard work, responsibility, and perseverance alongside her brothers and sisters—values that shaped her throughout her life.

She met and married the love of her life, Maurice "Gene" Evans, in 1958. Together they shared 67 wonderful years of marriage and built a life centered on family, dedication, and community. From their union came two sons, Morris E. Evans and Brian K. Evans, both of Rapid City.

Bonnie will be remembered as the longtime President of Rapid Delivery Service, a family business she proudly operated with Gene and their family for 48 years. In 2025, Rapid Delivery Service was acquired by Western Peak Logistics, where Brian now serves as Manager—allowing Bonnie's legacy of integrity, dedication, and service to continue forward.

Bonnie's work ethic was second to none, and she passed those values on to everyone who worked with her. She was a brilliant accountant, a devoted business owner, and a beloved matriarch. She cherished her daughters-in-law and shared many joyful moments and laughter with them.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Kepner, Raymond, Donald, and Paul Kieffer, and her sister Elvira.

Bonnie is survived by her beloved husband, Maurice "Gene" Evans; her sons, Morris (Diane) Evans and Brian (Cheryl) Evans, all of Rapid City; her grandson, Josh Tchida; and her sister, Irene.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.

Bonnie's funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at the Rockerville Cemetery.
