Rapid City – Bruce “Norm” Talsoe, 95, died Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Monument Health Home Plus Hospice House.

Bruce Norman Eugene Talsoe was born July 22, 1930 in Duluth, Minnesota to his parents, Ambrose Arvo and Ilma Mabel (Filby) Talsoe. He grew to adulthood and then entered the United States Air Force and was an Airman First Class during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on September 29, 1954.

He attended the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities and received his BS degree in electrical engineering. He worked for UNIVAC, Control Data, and Seagate Technology.

He married Elsie Margaret Vong on July 29, 1966 in St. Paul, Minnesota. She died August 4, 2010. He moved to Rapid City, SD in June of 2022.

Norm enjoyed skiing-both water and downhill, handball, racquetball, walking, computers, travel, volunteering at the hospital cardiac unit, and playing cards.

One of Norm’s greatest accomplishments in life was writing a book that God called on him to write, starting at age 80, and completion at age 91, a book to evangelize the world called, “God, the Here and the Hereafter the way to heaven.”

He is survived by his son: Craig Talsoe of Red Wing, Minnesota; two daughters: Cara (Mark) Belisle of Rapid City and Connie (Dave) Tropple of Zumbrota, Minnesota; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Norm was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister.

Memorial Services will be held at a future date at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Cloquet, Minnesota and the burial will take place at the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery near Clayton, Wisconsin.

Memorial Services will be 1:00 pm Friday, June 26, 2026 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cloquet, Minnesota.

Burial Service will be 11:00 am Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery at Clayton, Wisconsin.
