Bryan James Rick, 45, of Rapid City, died Friday, January 1, 2016 as a result of a motorcycle accident on Highway 44 near Rapid City.
Bryan was born on February 24, 1970, in Rapid City to Ernie and Joyce (West) Rick. He grew up in Rapid City and attended Robbinsdale Elementary, South Junior High and Stevens High School.
After school he began is career as a heavy equipment operator in the excavation business. He was currently employed at B & B Excavating. He loved to work hard and stay busy.
Bryan enjoyed working on, collecting and painting Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was a member of ABATE.
Survivors include his father, Ernie Rick, of Rapid City; 2 sons, James and Jarrett Rick, both of Rapid City; 2 daughters, Kiayanna Berg, of Sturgis and Keyla Blodgett, of Rapid City; 2 brothers, Jason (Katie) Rick and Josh (Joey) Rick, all of Rapid City; a granddaughter, Baleigh-Lynn Eagle; 2 aunts, Jeanette Mangelsen of Oregon and Norene (Don) Crisman-Lantz, of Rapid City and an uncle Wesley Rick, of Box Elder.
He was preceded in death by his mother Joyce Rick in 2003 and a niece Autumn Christine Rick, his grandparents are several aunts and uncles.
His memorial service will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 9 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
A reception will immediately follow the service at Doty Volunteer Fire Department on Nemo Road.
