Rapid City - C. Leola Morgan, 79, of Rapid City, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 31, 2009. She was born on September 7, 1930 in Strandburg, SD to Emil and Clara (Dahlberg) Korsberg. She was the youngest of four girls who were very close-knit their entire lives. She moved to Rapid City in 1940 and graduated from Rapid City High School in 1948 where she was active in many students groups. While in High School she met Robert A (Bob) Morgan and they were wed Jun 6, 1948. They made Rapid City their permanent home raising three children. As a young mother she worked at various stores and restaurants. She then went to work for the Rapid City School Food Services until she retired. She was involved in several groups and organizations including extension, church circles, ABWA, XYL, PTA, Cub Scouts and Nitwits. Besides attending all of her children's activities, she always found time to gather with friends for coffee and tea. Shopping trips always took longer as she would see someone she knew to visit with. Leola liked to travel, collect owl figurines and knick knacks, bake and attend her weekly beauty appointment. In the spring of 2009 she was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease). In October she moved into the Hospice House where she received excellent care throughout her last days. Thank you very much. Left to cherish her memory is her companion of nine years Daryl DeSaint, Rapid City; her daughter Sharon (Gregg) Simon, Mobridge; two sons, Steve (Pat) Morgan, Rapid City and Kevin (Angela) Morgan, Spearfish; grandchildren Shane, Brent, Tashina, Aaron, Brian, Aime and Kathy; great-Grandchildren Mya, Kaylee, Emilee, Hunter, Blake, Briley, Gabriel and Grace; also several cousins, nieces, nephews, and special sisters and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Clara; sisters Grace, Gertrude and Hazel and her beloved husband of 52 years Bob. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, Jan. 4, at the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with Rev Ron McLaughlin and Rev Mike Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. A memorial has been established
