RAPID CITY | Carl Eugene Ensor, 88, a lifelong Rapid City resident, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at Bella Vista Care Center.
Carl was born Nov. 26, 1928, in Rapid City to Pleasant and Theresa (Turton) Ensor.
He served in the US Navy from 1950 to 1954.
Carl was united in marriage to Maureen Colgan DiLaura on May 25, 1968, in Rapid City.
He worked for the US Postal Service for many years as a mail carrier and also part-time for the "Chevy Garage."
Survivors include his wife, Maureen, of Rapid City; seven children, James (Joyce) Ensor of Wichita, KS, Margaret "Peggy" (Gary) Keith of Raleigh, NC, Deborah Ensor of Seattle, WA, Stephen (Jill) Ensor of Madison, WI, Frank (Lynn) Ensor of Spearfish, Eugene "Gene" Ensor of Rapid City and Loren (Racquel) Ensor of Brookings; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gardner Ensor; a sister, Dorothy Weiss; and a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Fern.
Christian Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2, at the Church of St. Therese, the Little Flower, 532 Adams St., with the Rev. Kerry Prendiville presiding.
Burial, with military honors rendered by the US Navy and VFW Post 1273, will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
