Carol J. Hanna, 79, Rapid City, died Saturday, April 5, 2008 at a local nursing home. She was born November 29, 1928 at Strandburg, SD to Fredrick and Amanda (Korsberg) Berglund. Carol graduated valedictorian of her senior class from Strandburg High School. On June 2, 1948 she married Deane Hanna. They lived in Rapid City until Carol moved back to her hometown of Strandburg in 2001 after Deanes death. She took great and caring pleasure in her family, church, friends, music, birds and flowers. Carol is survived by her three sons; Alan Hanna and his wife, Tessa, Rapid City, Dwight Hanna, Black Hawk, and Craig Hanna, Strandburg, a daughter Sherilynn (Hanna) House and her husband Murray, Champlin, MN, 4 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Blvd. Servivces will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, at Crossroads Wesleyan Church, 1823 Sheridan Lake Rd. in Rapid City with Pastor Darrell Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. A lunch will be served at the church following the burial at approximately 4 p.m.
