IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol F
Jones
November 22, 1945 – June 22, 2025
Carol F. Jones, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Carol was born in Brisbane, Australia, on November 22, 1945, to Kathleen and LeRoy Terborg. Her passing reunites her with the love of her life, Staff Sergeant Frank "Sarge" Jones, whose laughter and loyalty remained etched in her heart every day since his departure.
Carol and Frank shared 40 beautiful years of marriage, having wed on February 21, 1975. Together, they built a life grounded in devotion—to each other, their family, and a community they served with grace and humility. Carol stood faithfully beside Frank through his years of honorable military service and tireless volunteer work with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) all while raising their children, working as a property manager, serving with the DAV Auxiliary in numerous roles, spending cherished time with family, and pursuing her love of crafting.
They raised three children—Kymberly (Jeff), Mike (Cheryl), and Becky (Michael)—instilling in them the values of service, compassion, and fierce loyalty that defined their parents' lives. Carol found boundless joy in her twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, who were the light of her world.
Known for her kindness, infectious humor, and the warmth that radiated from every room she entered, Carol lived a life of gentle grace. Whether cheering at family gatherings, enjoying Fourth of July celebrations with loved ones, watching her favorite Hallmark movies, or simply offering a steady hand in difficult times, she made everyone feel like they belonged.
As she and Sarge are now reunited, we celebrate not only Carol's life, but the beautiful, enduring love story they shared—a testament to devotion that inspired all who knew them.
A service celebrating Carol's life will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at the Black Hills National Cemetery Rotunda in Sturgis, South Dakota. Light lunch and refreshments will be served following the service at the DAV Hall, 101 E. Madison, Rapid City, South Dakota.
Know that you will be greatly missed by all of the lives you touched throughout the years. We love you, Mom.
