Rapid City

Carolyn M. Galster, 71, died Monday, June 27, 2016 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

She was born on October 12, 1944 in Rapid City to Adolph and Edith (Hapney) Galster.

Carolyn graduated from Rapid City High School and then graduated from Black Hills Beauty College. Eventually, Carolyn opened her own shop, "Wishing Well Hair Styles" in her home where she made friends with many wonderful coworkers and customers over her 50 year career.

She enjoyed taking rides in the hills, hiking and other outdoor activities with her nephew, gardening, and spending time with her grandniece and grandnephews, who were the light of her life. She was always encouraging them to get out of the house and to the hills more often.

Survivors include her nephew, Lyle (Angie) Cutler, a grand niece, Megan, two grand nephews; Cody and Zane and her brother in law, Forrest Cutler, all of Rapid City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, infant brother and her good friend, Roger Southard.

A visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Chapel with Pastor Sharla McCaskell officiating. Interment will be next to her parents at Mt. View Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Black Hills Humane Society.
