RAPID CITY – Carroll "Curly" Crocker, 93, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Monument Health – Rapid City Hospital.
Curly was born on Thursday, January 25, 1930 in Hamill, South Dakota to Carroll W. and Hermaine M. (Galleneaux) Crocker.
On April 19, 1948, he married Mae O'Dea and together they grew their family to include four children.
Curly proudly served in the U.S. Army and the South Dakota National Guard. He became the first route salesman for Coca Cola in Rapid City. Also, he worked for Cawley's Tater Flakes until the business closed and later worked for Amcon, Rapid City from which he retired. Having been a hard worker throughout his life, following his retirement he worked part time for the Rapid City Journal and finished his working life at The Medicine Shoppe of Rapid City. As he would tell all; "I have always been married and always worked."
Curly is survived by his children; Jim Crocker (Vickie) of Punta Gorda, FL, Bob Crocker (Debbie) of St. Charles, MO, and Kathy Crocker of Rapid City. He also leaves behind his sister Karren Annarella, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and special niece, Nancy Murdock (Craig).
He was preceded in death by his wife Mae M. Crocker in 2008 and his daughter Debra "Debbie" Crocker in 1974.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Rapid City.
