RAPID CITY - Casey James Johnson, 34, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024.

Casey was born in the mountain town of Conifer, Colorado where he lived for the first five years of his life before moving to Rapid City and the Black Hills. The outdoors was always part of Casey's soul. From the time he could crawl, he wanted to be outside.

Casey was always the life of the party! He loved to tease and joke with everyone. If he teased you, it was a sure sign of his love for you!

Casey loved deeply and lived his life on the edge. Dirt biking with his brother and friends, driving through the hills and prairies in his truck with his dog Odin, and gathering with friends and family for backyard barbecues were his greatest loves.

In 2017, Casey graduated from Western Dakota Tech with his degree in welding. He went on to work in both welding and HVAC.

All who knew Casey loved him immensely. He was our funny guy and our protector.

Now Casey is hiking, dirt biking and playing with his beloved dogs, Draco, Ben, Tillie and Goliath in the mountains and Hills of Heaven at peace; smiling, laughing, and watching over all of us.

Casey was preceded in death by his uncle Dave Johnson.

He is survived by his father, Roger (Rita) Johnson; mother, Stacey (Bob) Scarlett; brother, Jesse Johnson; brother, Jared Kovall – Scarlet; sister, Lee Scarlett; sister, Taylor Johnson; grandparents, Dick and Sue Johnson; grandfather, Jim Arnold; grandparents, Karen and Paul Johnson; grandparents, Tom and Mary Greenwalt; uncle, Daren Arnold; uncle, James Johnson; aunt, Debbie (Ed) LaPour; special cousins, Corrie (Nick) Caswell and Maggie Dornay; more cousins and many friends who loved him immensely.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Agape Spiritual Center, 610 St. Francis St., Rapid City.
