Charlea Belle (Warne) Brumbaugh of Rapid City, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at her home, Thursday, November 17, 2011, surrounded by her family. Charlea was born August 31, 1924, in Pierre, SD, to Stewart and Ethel Warne. She grew up in Sully County, South Dakota and attended schools in the Pierre area, graduating from Pierre High School in 1940. She married Norman Brumbaugh in 1945 and they traveled and lived throughout the United States and Europe during Normans 32 years of military service (USN &USA), settling in Rapid City in 1966. She held various jobs throughout her life, the last being Deputy Treasurer in the Pennington County License Department, where she retired in 1986. Survivors include her daughter, Carol (Jim) Broderick, sons, Donald (Linda) Brumbaugh, Dale (Melody) Brumbaugh, Rapid City, and Edward (Linda) Brumbaugh, Virginia; nine grandchildren, Kalista Smith (TX), Jody Brumbaugh (OK), Shane Brumbaugh (NE), Aaron Brumbaugh (VA), Tarra Larson (Rapid City), Sara Cordes (VA), Paul Broderick (Spearfish), Sascha and Charlea Brumbaugh (Rapid City); 21 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Burton and Leonard, and sister, Marjorie Skinner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, brother Walter, and sisters Ruby and Irene. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home in Rapid City with the Rev. Deacon Virginia Bird officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m until service time. A memorial has been established.
