RAPID CITY-Charlene Ann Brown, age 69, died at the Victorian Assisted Living Center in Rapid City, Monday, February 10, 2014. She was born to Charles O. and Hazel M. Brown on May 26, 1944. A short time later, she moved with her family to Huron, SD where she grew up and attended schools. Her father was transferred to Amherst, MA, her senior year and she graduated from Amherst Regional High School. She worked in the library at the University of Massachusetts, and she later moved to Rapid City, where she worked in the insurance and banking industries. She was a loving and generous aunt to her nieces and nephews. She never missed a birthday or family event. She will be greatly missed by her entire family. She is survived by her brother, Jerry Brown (Dodie),Rapid City; her nieces Tricia Freeman (Dan) Omaha, NE; Erin Lund (Jason) Lone Tree, CO; her nephews Rodney Brown (Julie) Lawrence, KS; Chris Brown, Rapid City; and Jeff Brown (Laurie) Edmond, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Hazel Brown, and her older brother, Ronald. There will be a private family graveside service. A memorial has been established to Hospice of the Hills.
