BOX ELDER – Charles F. Holden, 82, died Friday, April 26, 2024 at Monument Health Hospital.
Charles was born July 1, 1941 in Midland, South Dakota to Frederick C. and Gladys B. (Tuning) Holden. He grew up in Keystone and Hill City attending Hill City schools. Charles did over the road truck driving, taking him all over the country. He owned and operated HBar6 Trucking.
He enjoyed four wheeling and loved a good adventure. Charles liked remote control cars and enjoyed racing them around. There was not much he couldn't do. He loved to work with his hands and build and fix things. He loved to joke around with family and friends.
Charles will be remembered for being a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a hardworking, kind man who loved to joke around.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Jo Holden; two sisters; one brother; son in law, Daniel Collins; and brother-in-law, Jim Simonds.
Charles is survived by three daughters: Kelly Holden, Hill City; Erin Holden, Hill City; Shannon (Ivan) Henderson, Spring Creek, NV; sister, Sharlene Simonds, Box Elder; brother, Herb (Lou) Holden, Black Hawk; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Private family graveside services will take place at the Hill City Cemetery.
