November 21, 1931 – November 9, 2024
Charles Lavern Clark, "Chuck", left this world peacefully on Saturday, November 9th, at the Hospice House in Rapid City, SD.
The oldest of eleven, he was born November 21, 1931 to Charles and Retta Clark in Northern Wisconsin, moving to Northern Illinois until moving back to Wisconsin when he was 15.
In December of 1950 he joined the United States Air Force, eventually being stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base. He was honorably discharged in 1954.
Married to Gwendolyn Lee Swanson April 17, 1954, they had five children: Cathy (Rex) Conrad, Charles Clark Jr., Kris (John) Knapp, David (Brenda) Clark, and Carol (Bill) Cook.
Chuck retired in 1994 from the State Cement Plant.
Chuck's many passions included bowling, golfing and attending his grandchildren and great grandchildren's activities and sporting events.
He is survived by four sisters (Lila, Eileen, Glenda and Audrey), two brothers (Larry and Steve), his five children, eleven Grandchildren and twenty-nine Great Grandchildren.
Chuck was preceded in death by his mother, father, wife, four brothers (Jim, Bob, Bill and Art) and one granddaughter (Margaret).
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Monument Health Home Plus Hospice in Rapid City
A memorial visitation will be 9:30am-10:30am Monday November 25 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. A procession will be leaving from the funeral home at 10:45am to Black Hills National Cemetery. A graveside service will full military honors will be 11:30am at the cemetery.
