Obituary

RAPID CITY- Charles Willard Starbuck passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the age of 94.

He was born on March 6, 1926 in Chicago, IL to Fred and Margaret Starbuck.

Charles received his bachelor's in industrial engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1952. He was a Mason and a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce in Chicago in the 1960s.

He married Velda Marie Hager on Nov. 7, 1969 in Rapid City.

He worked for CP Clair in Rapid City, then for the USAF as a civilian industrial engineer at Ellsworth Air Force Base, Reese Air Base in Lubbock Texas, and then retired from civil service in Cincinnati in 1993.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Velda, and his sister, Peggy Clark of Pittsburg.

He is survived by seven children; three sons: Victor Hager, Jr. of Dillon MT; Vince Hager of Hermosa; Vernon Jay Hager of Rapid City; and four daughters: Victoria Poynter, Vidette Kelly, Verla Kaufman and Vanette Meyer all of Rapid City; 18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Private family services will be held in the Spring. Burial will take place at the Hermosa Cemetery.
