RAPID CITY - Clifford Stanley Berglund, 69, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Golden LivingCenter-Meadowbrook. Cliff was born July 15, 1942, in Chicago to Stanley and Dorothy (Jeschke) Berglund. He spent his early childhood in Chicago and in Lake Geneva, Wis., at the family cabin his Grandfather built. As a young man, Cliff made many trips to Wisconsin Dells to work at his friends' stables to guide tourists on horses through the back country of the Dells. In 1967, he met Judith Krammer, and they married on Aug. 29, 1970. In 1973, Shane Erik Berglund was born. In 1976, Cliff and Judy decided that they didn't want to raise their children in Chicago and moved to Ekalaka, Mont., on a ranch with no plumbing, an outhouse and the whole nine yards! After about five months, they moved to Camp Crook, S.D. In 1978, John Stanley Berglund was born. The family moved to Rapid City in the spring of 1993. Cliff entered Golden LivingCenter-Meadowbrook in October 2010 after many health issues. In his younger days, Cliff enjoyed hunting and trapping. He was always proud to display his animals. Cliff was an avid movie and music fan. Two of his prized possessions were his home theater system and his fish collections. He was a lifelong hockey fan and his favorite team was the Chicago Blackhawks. He had a deep love for his family and iced coffee. He is survived by his wife, Judy Berglund of Rapid City; two sons, Erik (Deanna) of Lead and John (Jamie) Berglund of Piedmont; and four grandchildren, Emme, Blaze, Delanie and Zoie. Cliff was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David S. Berglund. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with 7 p.m. prayer services Friday, May 4, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Blvd. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 4500 Jackson Blvd., with Rev. Brian Lane officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
