Clyde Zook, 85, Rapid City, passed away peacefully at Rapid City Regional Hospital on Tuesday 02-24-09. Clyde was born 10-10-23 in Sioux City, Ia. attended East High. He was in the Army Air Corps 1942-1945.After Military service he embarked on a sales career retiring from Booth Fisheries after four decades of dedicated service. His beloved Dorothy and he were married in 1963 in the Rapid City area and remained so until her death in 2007. They shared a passion for life and dedicated their lives to each other as well as their charitable work and hobbies. He was a 1958 life charter member of the Rushmore Lions and was inducted in to the Lions Hall of Fame in 2006. He was also a life member of the Elks Lodge where he found many years of enjoyment with his passion for golf. He was the past president of the Canyon Lake Senior Center and past President of the Pennington Co. Council on Aging as well as a member of Canyon Lake Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy and sister Mary. Clyde is survived by his daughter Lenis Pato of Rapid City, and son, David Zimmerschied Sr. of Black Hawk, Eleven Grandchildren and Eight Great Grand Children. Clyde, you are dearly loved and will be missed. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, Feb. 27, 2009 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 Saturday, Feb. 28 at Canyon Lake United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Ruedebusch and Rev. Rebecca Trefz officiating. Inurnment will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2009 at Black Hills National Cemetery with military honors by Rushmore VFW Post 1273 and the S D National Guard. A memorial has been established.
