RAPID CITY- Coletta (Yegge) Smith, 96, died Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Fountain Springs Health Care. Coletta was born at Butte, Nebraska on March 22, 1917. She and her parents then moved to Fairfax, SD and later moved to Winner in 1922. She attended grade school at St. Mary's School and High School graduating in 1935. Coletta later attended the Hawkeye Institute of Technology in Waterloo, Iowa. She married Richard T. Smith on September 16, 1950 in Omaha, Nebraska. They spend their entire business life in Winner. Following retirement, they moved to Rapid City in 1982. Coletta was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Winner, member of the Rapid City Doe's and a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Rapid City. She resided at Fountain Springs Health Care. Survivors include sister, Vera Powers, Tacoma, WA; and many nieces and nephews; special friend, DeAnn Meier, Rapid City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 1995, her parents, three brothers and five sisters. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with Rev. William Zandri officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
