Colleen Louise Dennis
May 19, 1947 – May 5, 2025

Colleen Louise Dennis, age 77, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025. She was born on May 19, 1947, in Willmar, Minnesota, to Ralph and Mabel (Hutton) Bailie, and grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Colleen was known for her steady dedication, kind heart, and warm presence. She worked for 11 years as a File Clerk at Regional Health. On April 27 1968, she married the love of her life, Howard Dennis. Together they raised two children, Michelle and David, who were the pride and joy of her life.

In addition to her career and family, Colleen was deeply involved in her community. She volunteered at the Monument Health Cancer Care Unit for 12 years, offering her time and compassion to those in need. She was also a devoted member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life.

Colleen will be remembered for her gentle spirit, and the deep love she showed to her family, friends, and community.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Dennis of Rapid City, SD; her children, Michelle (John) Kruse, Rapid City, SD and David (Robin) Dennis, Johnson Siding, SD; Grandchildren; Kayla (JD) Isakson, Piedmont, SD. Cole (CJ) Powell, Valley Springs, SD, Carson Oliver, Black Hawk, SD, Robert Myers, Rapid City, SD, Amanda Kruse (Chase Toms) Rapid City, SD; Great-Grandchildren; Jeffrey and Adam Isakson Piedmont, SD, Oakley, Presley, and Brody Powell, Valley Springs, SD; one brother, Joel (Valerie) Bailie of Bend, OR.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mabel Bailie, and her brother, Ralph Bailie Jr.

Her Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Monday, May 12, 2025 at Faith Lutheran Church, 17 Indiana Street.

Burial will take place at Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
