Stoner

Dale L. Stoner Obituary, written by Dale Stoner, September 5, 2025.
I was born in Lead, South Dakota on March 20, 1934, to Cecil R. Stoner and Lillian Stoner. I lived in Lead until 1942, then moved to Blacktail where Dad managed the local ice-skating rink. My mother passed away in the same year and my brother and I were raised by my Dad along with help from my older brother, sister-in-law (Luella) and Grandma Parsons.
I graduated from Deadwood High School, attended Black Hills State University and many law enforcement classes.
I married Beautiful Donna Aspen and together we raised four great kids; Kim (Casey) McDonald, Kay Baker, Karen (Barney) Wagner and Michael (Dianne) Stoner.
I worked for Homestake Mining Company, The South Dakota Highway Patrol later starting my own accident reconstruction business until retirement.
I enjoyed target shooting, fishing, training and riding horses and golfing with the "Geezer" friends at Tomahawk Golf Course. I always loved family gatherings.
It's been a good life with a great wife, kids, friends and good neighbors.
I was preceded in death by my parents, brothers Jack, Ross (Shorty) Cecil Jr. and sister Delores.
I am survived by my wife Donna, daughters Kim (Casey) McDonald, Kay Baker, Karen (Barney) Wagner, son Michael (Dianne) Stoner, grandchildren Cady, Nick, Alex, Ellen, Paul, Emma and Ethan, great-grandchildren Sutton, Lexi, Skyler, C.K., Aspen, Ace and Lilliana.
