Dana Kory Hedin, 72, of Rapid City, died on June 30, 2023.

He was born on February 13, 1951, in Rapid City to Delbert and LaVawn (Eames) Hedin.

Dana grew up in Rapid City, graduating from Rapid City Central High School in 1969.

He worked in many different career fields to provide for his family, but his favorite career was being a carpenter.  He began his full-time career in carpentry in 1994.

Dana was extremely proud of his sobriety, having achieved over 25 sober years at the time of his death.

He made friends for life and was extremely loyal.  Throughout his battle with cancer, he was so very grateful for the friendship, visits, rides to appointments, and Double Cheeseburgers from McDonald's that Rich Larsen provided without hesitation.

Dana was extremely proud of and is survived by his children: Nathan and Lacey Hedin, Belle Fourche, South Dakota and Koré and Brent Nielsen, Hudson, Wisconsin, grandchildren, Mabelle and Simon Nielsen, and his brother, Dr. Nyle and Deacon Jo Hedin, Sarasota, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Therese Catholic Church.
